A Dopey Rug

Dopey Rug

Dopey is getting bigger real quick. I used to be able to carry him nicely with the palm of my hand - whenever I need to to wash him after he has done his businesses. But now, I can barely do that anymore. However, he still as playful as ever. I guess, this is part and parcel of what makes up the characteristics of a Shih Tzu - a lively and alert toy dog.

Managed to capture this photo when he was so tired after running around the house... when he is dead-tired, you can almost do anything to him and he will not even notice it or even care...

Last weekend, we discovered that the poor fellow had some infection in the ear, so we took him to the vet to have it checked. It is pretty easy to know when your dog has an infection in the ear - you can tell by the smell that is coming out of the ear... you can find more by visiting this petdoctors.com. Anyway, the vet had to clean it with some solution while Dopey barked with pain, cause dogs do not like their ears to be tampered with - we felt for him. Well, it's for his own good. The vet also gave us the some solution to clean the ears regularly... and we had to go through the whole process of pinning him down and cleaning his ears...

"bark! bark! bark!"

Gosh!!!

Learned that this is quite a common infection amongst dogs with closed ear canals, so we will have to get used to cleaning his ears... more importantly, he has to get used to having his ears cleaned occasionally.

Coution!
IL bought me a camera phone recently. I find the gadget to be pretty handy and useful (especially at times when carrying a camera can be quite troublesome and when resolution is not a priority). Yeah, I was one of those blokes who used to criticiz those people who use camera phones! – In our very colloquial way, “Handphone mah handphone loh! Why need to have camera with it one?” Well, I am not totally a 100% converted believer, though. I still think that marrying the both somehow midgets the functions in either one of them – like in this case, the camera. But I believe, with time, camera phones can potentially reach the capabilities of a full-flesh digital camera… THEN, I am a believer. However, I am pretty happy with my K500.

Anyway, I was in KL last weekend and one of my missions was to come back with the latest edition of the IKEA magazine. While walking to the building after parking my car, I was cautioned by this Coution! sign.

About Dopey

Dopey

It's been a while since I've blogged. Again, blame it on the work-load. Anyway, got a hold of IL's A80 and started shooting again. Managed to capture this cute picture of Dopey, the latest addition to the family. He is really adorable, that is, whenever he is not off biting our toes and fingers (teething process)... or relieving himself somewhere around the house.

Dopey is about 9 weeks old now. When we first brought him home, he was just a little pup and could not even walk properly, now he is running around so much and so fast, that at the blink of an eye, you may just miss him...

And he is really mischievious too! We still need to restrain him within a fenced-den whenever we are not around or when we sleep, so that he will not go peeing or pooing all around the house (though he is pretty well trained, toilet wise - he knows that he is supposed to do his businesses on newspapers. But sometimes when there is no newspaper, anywhere will do...).

Also he "selectively" barks a lot whenever we put him in his den. Selectively because he only barks whenever he sees IL or me around when he is in his den. When other people walk past while he is in there, he keeps quite! He knows who he can manja-manja (pamper) with - IL and me!

We've just migrated him from milk to semi-hard biscuits to hard puppy biscuits, and he is taking the transition pretty well, especially with his teeth growing.

Dopey is really cute, everyone in the family loves him... even the maid! Gosh, he is really getting all the attention! Ha ha! He is a real handful, but it is really great to have him around... more pictures to come...
