Amazing Race: Mirna & Charla are OUT!
Caught the Sunday late-edition of the Amazing Race (EP 07). Honetly, I've been waiting for quite sometime for the cousins to be eliminated from the race. Yes, Charla may be fighting for a "cause (for the little people)" but what really put me off was the way she and Mirna uses her "physical condition" to take advantage of other people's sympathy.

The taxi incident in Luxor was one of the incident that really put me off when it was clearly the cousins' fault for accidentally taking Colin&Christie's taxi, yet Mirna made a comment that the couple disgusts her, when clearly the couple's bags were still in the trunk of the taxi...

Well, I respect Charla's noble cause/mission in proving to the world that we should not belittle people who are in similar physical state as she is. But what disappoints me is the way they carry themselves, especially Mirna, in the race. It's amazing (in the Amazing Race) how races like these can bring out the little devil in all of us. I mean, not only in the case of Mirna and Charla, but we can also see similar "manifestations" in the other teams as well.

Well, I guess the game gets more interesting as we approach the "finish" line. Keep watching and may the best team win.

The Mansion

The Mansion

Also known as 32 Kelewei. Under the same management as 68 Kelewei. A cross between continental and local cuisine. One of my friend told me it was rather "nyonya type" kind of food. The only closest "nyonya type" food I found was Nasi Lemak (coconut milk rice). Talk about wrong information...

But the food is pretty good. The restaurant is set up inside a pre-war, colonial building at the UPR (Upper Penang Road) stretch. The atmosphere is fabulous, especially if you sit in the patio area, with the seaview just infront of you. They have life bands sometimes. Otherwise, you will have jazz/blues to accompany you as you nibble on your grilled white cod and as you sip on your '97 Napa Valley Chardonnay.

Price is slightly steep... well, it truly depends on the individual, ain't it? But comparing with the Penang food-price baseline, it maybe one sigma above the average... :P A decent meal would be about RM70... Well, you be the judge.

Peaches...
IL went peach plucking with a few other folks in OR. Managed to capture some nice shots of the peaches. Here is one of them.

Peaches

Peaches are so abundant there that if you take a bite on one, and don't like the taste of it, you can just throw 'em on the floor and then go for the next one. What a waste, huh? Sin... Sin... :P
