boon's log 5004.02: Wet Dopey

We gave Dopey a shower last weekend before bringing to the Vet for his 3rd and final booster vaccine. We need to bath him before the shot because we are not supposed to bath him for 3-4 days. Here you can see the not-so-fluffy version of Dopey, when he is all wet...

Wet Dopey

Together with the vaccination, we also requested the vet to implant the microchip into Dopey. It took us a while to consider on whether or not to implant the chip because the process of implanting the microchip is - we think - something very close to cruelty to the poor little pup. You would to, if you saw the size of the syringe. I was imagining poking that thing into my arm, and it sent shivers down the spine. For those who have not seen it before - imagine the size (radius) or a normal syringe; now multiply that by 3 or 4 times. Yup... ouch! Well, Dopey took it like a ... well, puppy. Yelped and yelped and even peed (possibly out of pain and fear). He ran to us for refuge after each injection, but too bad, we cannot provide any sort of refuge for him in that sense. We also noticed that everytime we visit the vet, Dopey is exceptionally quiet - of course until he is be injected or a thermometer is shoved up his rear-end. He must have recognized the place somewhere in his memory and labeled it as "torture chamber"!

As with the 1st and 2nd shot, Dopey would was moody and tired after taking injection. He would just sleep most of the day off and the next day, he will be up and running again – really running up and down the house, making sure that he is involved in everything that is happening around the house, making sure that he gets his daily dose of either pear or Fuji apple. CL is doing a very good job in training Dopey up. IL managed to train Dopey to “Sit”, while CL recently managed to teach him to “Hand”. The latest one that they are trying to teach him is to “Lie Down”, then “Roll-Over”.

Lost World of Tambun
We decided to take a drive on Sunday to the much hyped, Lost World of Tambun, proudly advertised around Ipoh and the newspapers, brought to you by Sunway Group - the Sunway Lagoon of Perak. We wanted to see what is it all about...

Here are some picture summary of our visit there...

Lost World

We did not plan to go in as most of the rides, etc. are not ready yet. I guess the only attractive ride now is the self-claimed longest water ride in Malaysia. After what we heard about they poor chap who received 40-over stitches in a popular water theme park in Malaysia, we decided... hmmm... we'll skip the risk of slashing ourselves.

So, we just hung around the souvenir shop and also took some pictures just before the ticket entrance and decided to go into the theme park when there are more rides available.

Overall, we were quite impressed with the park layout, especially the location of the park, which is surrounded by a high towering limestone hill - it gives a cooling and welcoming feeling... nicely done. Let's hope that the park will be able to sustain and that the quality of servies will not degrade with time...
