boon's log 5206.02: Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year

Christmas this year was rather simple and quiet. But even so, it was filled with a lot of quality time spent with IL and AB together with our families. Yeah, with the arrival of AB, and with IL still in confinement, we typically spent most of our times at home - other than times when we need to get supplies and groceries.

Really need to thank God for the confinement lady - she really did help out a lot in terms of taking care of the baby; well, that's her role anyways. We just fear it when the confinement period is up and she needs to take leave.

We were fore-warned about the bad side of the pacifier, being a bad habit and all. But we were also told that it does help provide the babe a sense of security and does help her sleep. After much thought and deliberation, we decided to give the pacifier a try, especially with the endless crying - it did not take us long to decide to get one (!!!). But to our surprise, AB did not take the pacifier well. She will suck on it a little at first, but when she discovers that there was no milk on the other end, she spits it out of her mouth! Ha ha!

After almost 3 weeks of confinement, we decided to give Queensbay Mall a try - yeah, IL's first outdoor activity after 3 weeks of house-arrest. :)



We were there on Christmas Eve - it was PACKED! Well, I guess QBM's packed all the time. We were just there for some laksa and walked around a little before heading home, since it was so packed with people anyways. All in all it's quite a big mall with many of the shops still yet to open. As with many Penangites, we just hope that QBM will be able to sustain and not turn out to be a white elephant in the future. Not sure if all Penangites are willing to pay RM7.90 for a bowl of asam laksa (if you know what I mean...)

As 2006 draws to a close, we've been reflecting on the past year - even in the cellgroup, we've spent one of the CG nights just looking back on 2006 and thank God for all that has happened. Some of us reflect on our 2006 resolutions - how many of 'em were realised and how many were still in the air, waiting to be brought forward to 2007 (!!!). Well, for 07, perhaps we wanna re-think on how realistic and how reach-able our New Year Resolutions are.

For IL and I, it's truly been an exciting year - 2006 - with our fruitful relocation / trip to the States and the successful project with our company, and now with the latest arrival into our family, our babe... among many other blessings and blessings-in-disguise. We owe it all to Him, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen.

We look forward to a more fruitful year ahead, in 2007. As with most business update meetings, we hope for a YoY (Year over Year) improvement / growth.
